Spruce Mountain Inn is a Residential and Transitional Living Program for young adults, located in Central Vermont. Since 1982, we have provided compassionate, client-centered residential treatment for young adults facing challenges in managing daily life due to mental health issues. Our comprehensive approach combines mental health treatment, independent living skill development, and a Career & Education Development Program to promote personal growth and a meaningful future.

We focus on addressing mental health needs in conjunction with community engagement and real-world skill development. Spruce Mountain Inn has helped hundreds of young adults achieve stability, confidence, and independence with the support of our dedicated staff.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Clinician role located in Plainfield, VT. The Clinician will provide therapeutic services to young adult residents, including conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions. Responsibilities include creating treatment plans, completing assessments, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and supporting residents in addressing mental health challenges. The Clinician will also assist in guiding residents through transitional phases, focusing on career planning, educational goals, and independent living skills development.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in individual and group therapy, case management, and treatment planning. Experience with family therapy strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of mental health disorders, neurodivergence, and evidence-based practices. Experience working with Autism and OCD preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required; licensure strongly preferred
  • Compassionate, client-focused approach with a commitment to helping young adults achieve stability and independence
