Position Summary
Works in collaboration with patients, physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team. Organizes, provides evaluations and documents cardiac rehabilitation. This is an outpatient program providing Level 2, 3/4 phases of rehabilitation.
Qualifications- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor degree program in nursing. - Experience:
3-5 years experience in nursing, including 2 years in a cardiac specialty service. - Other Experience
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrocardiography and group exercise leadership.
- Evidence of leadership skills.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with physicians, fellow workers and patients.
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of adult education.
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Skill in the pharmacology of drugs important in the treatment of heart disease.
- Knowledgeable in diet evaluation and planning as it relates to heart disease.
- Skilled in techniques of cardiac rehabilitation.
- Knowledge in the field of adult education.
- Area of interest: nursing.
