The Arbors of Shelburne is looking for full‑time LNAs or Experienced Caregivers to join our night shift team. Make up to $26.50/hr with shift differentials and incentives. We seek a compassionate individual to deliver care to residents within a warm, comfortable, and home‑like environment.

Job Summary

The Resident Care Associate provides the service and care required to each resident in a timely and efficient manner.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provides ongoing supervision of residents’ health‑related activities, complies with healthcare instructions, and seeks medical attention promptly.
  • Recognizes and assists in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Reports resident condition changes, especially when more time is needed to deliver care.
  • Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, grooming, hygiene, dressing, toileting, mobility/transfers, dining).
  • Participates in functional evaluation and service plan reviews.
  • Removes, launders, folds, and returns resident linens and personal laundry.
  • Serves residents food as directed, including feeding skills, if regulations permit.
  • Receives and gives shift report orally and/or in written log.
  • Effectively handles resident behavioral expressions.
  • Reacts calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ensures resident information is communicated through the report process and calendar (appointments, outings, etc.).
  • Maintains accurate documentation and record‑keeping.
  • Checks all residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, and continence issues.
  • Uses proper sanitary procedures to wipe tables and mop dining areas after meals.
  • Monitors resident rooms daily for cleanliness and neatness; double checks high‑risk rooms.
  • Communicates and documents residents’ material needs.
  • Measures and records vital signs as required by state regulations.
  • Accurately reports residents’ status.
  • Assesses resident safety/risk proactively.
  • Communicates with residents, families, and friends.
  • Completes incident reports before shift end.
  • Participates in daily programs and recreational activities with Programming staff.
  • Responds to emergencies and personal emergency response system usage.
  • Serves as mentor to new Resident Care Associates.
  • Engages in special projects or assignments as delegated.
Education / Experience / Licensure / Certification
  • Current certification as a nursing assistant or completion of a certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care training program.
  • In Rhode Island, all Resident Care Associates must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • High School education is preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient reading and understanding of a Resident Care Service Plan or assignment.
  • Understanding of advanced directives and end‑of‑life care.
  • Knowledge of nursing function in assisted living, memory care, and/or skilled nursing.
  • Understanding of quality of care and life objectives.
  • Familiarity with Resident Care Standards and Practices.
  • Knowledge of Benchmark Standards and Practices.
  • Knowledge of state regulations pertaining to the role.
  • Understanding of policies in the Resident Handbook.
  • Current First Aid and Heimlich certification, if required by state regulation.
