Sr. Accountant

Location: Springfield

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Springfield, Vermont. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, managing critical accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy. The role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in financial reporting and reconciliation who thrive in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities:

- Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring all financial records are accurately updated and finalized.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring the integrity of all financial data.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and balances.

- Handle bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and company records.

- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and decision-making.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for business improvement.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processes.

- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.

- Prepare financial reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.

- Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting.

- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting practices.

- Advanced skills in accounting software and financial tools.

- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.

- Strong communication and organizational skills for effective collaboration.
