Location: Castleton
BASIC FUNCTION
The Summer Graduate Intern for Student Affairs will work directly on projects in Student Affairs related to Orientation and Code of Conduct, as well as other projects as assigned. This individual will support state days planning including functions for the operations of the day of the event.
This individual will also support program planning and implementation efforts for kickoff and Orientation weekend. This individual's responsibilities in Student Activities may include outreach to local community members for volunteer opportunities for students. This individual will also work to update communication and documents in the maxient conduct system and they may also be responsible for assisting in the review of edits to the Code of Conduct.
The successful candidate will be based out of the Williston campus but able to travel throughout the system and as needed. This position will report to the Director of Student Activities. The internship will begin on Monday June 2nd and end on Friday August 8.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the yearly review and edit of the Code of Conduct
- Assist in the planning of programming for Orientation, including state days, kickoff weekend, and week of welcome
- Contact community organizations to organization volunteer efforts for VTSU students
- Assist in the management of the maxient conduct system; including updating letters and forms in the system
- Assist in the creation of training materials for maxient for new staff members
- Be present and assist with state days on campuses, as needed
