Substitute Teacher and Paraeducator

Location: Essex Junction

The Essex Westford School District (EWSD), serving Essex Junction, Essex Town, and Westford is seeking substitute teachers and para educators for all locations to work on an as-needed basis. There are full-day and partial-day opportunities available.

The ideal candidate can effectively manage student behavior, adhere to the teacher's lesson plans, and be flexible in their assignment based on school needs.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• Ability to handle stress and resolve conflicts
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of assignments, some of which may change at the last minute based on school needs.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required

Paid training and job shadowing are available for chosen candidates!

The substitute daily pay rate is:

• Full day: $150
• 3.5hr or less: $75

Upon submission of your application, the references you enter will be emailed a short survey to complete. The survey asks for feedback related to your flexibility, professionalism, and experience. You can choose to enter a current or former supervisor, colleague, professor, coach, neighbor, etc

All selected applicants must complete EWSD Mandatory Training within 30 days of hire. These trainings are provided at no cost to employees and are expected to take a half-day to complete. Substitutes will be paid $75 after completion (the standard half-day substitute teaching rate).
