Summary
We are in search for a Lead Infant Teacher to join our expanding team. If you are someone who loves to teach and enrich children’s ability to learn, we are interested in talking to you!
- Leading and managing a classroom
- Developing a caring, supportive atmosphere for children and their parents
- Providing an effective learning environment within the classroom with the focus on school readiness skills
- Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas
- Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by Center Director and Behavior Specialist
- Maintain responsibility on a daily basis for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom
- Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help children with all personal hygiene skills
- Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of young children
- Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
- Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
- Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication
- Collaborating with other teachers and staff to support each classroom and individual child's needs
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
- At least 20 years old
- Vermont Early Childhood career ladder Level three
- Associate degree in related field (early childhood, human services, etc.)
- 21 college credits in related field and 12 months experience
- Experience caring for infants
- $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
