Position

Youth Programming Coordinator - Slate Valley Trails/VHCB at Ameri Corps

Overview

Founded in 2015, Slate Valley Trails (SVT) operates over 50 miles of free public trails in Poultney, Castleton, and Wells. The Youth Program Coordinator will expand SVT's capacity to deliver high‑quality trail‑based programs for young people throughout the Slate Valley region.

Work Schedule:

Half‑time, 6 months, 40 hours per week (915 hours total)

Location:

Vermont, Poultney VT

Education Level: High school diploma or GED

Age Requirement:
Minimum 17 – Maximum 99

Accepting Applications:

Member Duties
  • Lead and facilitate youth recreation programs throughout spring, summer, and fall, including Youth Mountain Bike, Teen Trail Blazers, and Spring After‑School Bike Clubs at Poultney Elementary, Middle & High Schools.
  • Support the local Vermont Youth Cycling League team (fall).
  • Support and implement program communications and outreach.
  • Develop and share content from programming through SVT’s online channels and print publications.
  • Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB Ameri Corps.
  • Participate in all VHCB Ameri Corps Program Initiatives & outreach activities to promote Ameri Corps.
  • Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities.
