The PBS KIDS Creative & Design Internship will give a student real-world experience working on apps and websites for kids, right alongside the teams who build them. The intern will also support the production of graphic, layouts and designs for digital platforms, marketing and social learning what it really takes to bring playful ideas for kids to life.
Key responsibilities- Work with the Creative & Design team to contribute to PBS KIDS initiatives as a creative on the team
- Own a design project to see from start to finish during their internship
- Help with the design of new features from PBS KIDS apps and websites
- Attend design reviews to provide feedback and have their work critiqued
- Help construct an asset management system for PBS KIDS producer and brand assets
Note:
Actual responsibility will depend on the candidate. We can scale up or down this list based on their interest and abilities
- Student should be seeking a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Design and/or Illustration.
- Presenting design work and incorporating stakeholder feedback
- Communicating creative ideas clearly and confidently
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Managing time and meeting production deadlines
- Taking ownership of a project from concept through delivery
- Iterating on work based on testing and critique
- Adapting designs to align with brand standards
- Thinking strategically about audience (kids and families)
- Time Commitment:
June 1, 2026 – August 21, 2026 - Compensation:
Undergraduate students receive $15/hour, graduate students receive $17/hour
