Katie Hopkins Events

is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Event Assistant to support our wedding and event team during the upcoming wedding season. This role is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands‑on experience in the wedding and events industry and learning how an event comes together from start to finish.

Role Overview

The Event Assistant will play a key role in the successful execution of wedding days by assisting with event setup and breakdown, décor placement, and on‑site coordination. You’ll work closely with the lead planner and a variety of professional vendors while learning the behind‑the‑scenes flow of a well‑executed event.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including loading/unloading décor and supplies
  • Support on‑site coordination to ensure timelines are followed smoothly
  • Work alongside vendors (florists, rental teams, photographers, venues, etc.) to help set expectations and execute the coordination timeline
  • Assist with transitions throughout the event (ceremony to cocktail hour, reception flips, etc.)
  • Maintain a calm, professional, and positive presence on event days
  • Troubleshoot minor issues as they arise and communicate with the lead planner as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous Wedding/ catering experience is a plus!
  • Interest in weddings, events, or hospitality industry as a whole.
  • Must be a tesm player
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to jump in where needed
  • Ability to follow direction while also being proactive.
  • Comfortable being on your feet for long periods and lifting light‑to‑moderate items
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation preferred
  • Availability on weekends (All weddings take place Fridays–Sundays)
Schedule & Compensation
  • Seasonal, part-time position
  • Hours vary by event (typically weekends)
  • Compensation based on experience
