Position:
Event Technician (Part-Time), Audio Visual - The Lodge at Spruce Peak
Role:
Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
- Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
- Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintains a positive relationship with clients through effective communication.
- Meets with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
- Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
- Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment and software issues.
- Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Understands company processes, follows procedures, and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Uses equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.
- Increases revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques and works with clients to finalize invoices.
- Completes order entries in Navigator as needed.
- High School Diploma required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Internal applicants must meet/train and certification requirements per Encore’s Global Learning Training Program for current and applying position.
- External applicants must meet/complete all training and certifications required within one year.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate Company vehicles; DOT requirements may apply.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, grasping; lifting up to 50 lbs; and various carrying and pushing/pulling tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Work environments include hotel/convention center and warehouse/event venues with irregular hours, on-call status, and potential travel between locations. May involve exposure to outdoor temperatures, noise, and high-end AV equipment.
