Position: Construction Administrator Job Estimating Assistant
Location: Woodstock

Hillside Builders, LLC is a small carpentry & general contracting company in the Woodstock, VT area. We are a value-led organization with a reputation for professionalism, integrity and high quality of work for high-end residential projects.

We are hiring a Construction Administrator & Job Estimating Assistant to join our growing team.

Job Summary

A Construction Administrator & Job Estimating Assistant will be responsible for supporting administrative and operational tasks related to the financial estimates and project management of high-end residential projects.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing cost calculations to determine the financial requirements of completing a project from renovations to technically complex projects
  • Manage and organize estimate documents and project drawings
  • Solicit and track subcontractor and supplier pricing quotes
  • Review drawings and perform measurements and quantity takeoffs
  • Prepare RFIs (Requests for Information) and communicate with the design team
  • Coordinate and schedule with subcontractors, architects, and internal teams through meetings, formal correspondence, and phone calls
  • Support with change order pricing, subcontractor selection, and special projects as needed
  • Assist Project Manager with any tasks related to project coordination, managing deadlines, scheduling, and communications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Construction Management or related technical field
  • Effective communication skills with phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings
  • Solid understanding of construction sequences and trade scopes
  • Strong project management, organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, especially Excel and Word, and PDF
  • Knowledge of carpentry, jobsites or construction
  • Familiarity with building codes, laws and regulations is helpful
