Healthy Kids Programs is seeking an experienced and motivated Director to oversee our After School Program for the 2025–2026 school year
. In this role, you will lead and manage all aspects of daily operations at a Healthy Kids Program site.
Work while your child is cared for, too.
Employer Paid Childcare – Available for your school-age children (ages 5-13) enrolled in our program, on the days you work.
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Manchester Elementary School in Manchester Center, VT
PAY: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
HOURS: 2:45 – 5:00 pm
JOB CONSISTS OF:
- Program Compliance: Ensure staff and program operations consistently meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
- Program Leadership: Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
- Program Management: Oversee daily operational tasks such as accurate attendance and registration tracking, scheduling, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Family Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.

Collaboration:
Communicate regularly with your direct report to share updates, address concerns, and support a positive team environment. Together, you will ensure high-quality care, strong staff morale, and proactive problem-solving.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the Director position, candidates must meet or exceed the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or Master’s degree
- Possess one or more of the following credentials or experiences:
- A minimum of ten months of direct work experience with school-age children
- Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate
- Vermont After school Professional Credential
- Vermont Program Director Credential
- Vermont Teacher Licensure
- Master’s degree in a youth-related field
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have medical clearance to perform all job duties and are free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
- You bring a warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members. You are professional, dependable, and punctual.
- You are able to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
