We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and experience in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for Cost Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and leading the month-end and year-end closings.
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations.
General Accounting Responsibilities- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a standard costing system for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Calculate and update standard costs based on BOMs (Bill of Materials), routing, and production processes.
- Perform material, labor, and overhead variance analysis (price, usage, efficiency, volume).
- Investigate and explain variances with production, procurement, and operations teams.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
- Lead the month-end close process and prepare financial statements.
- Analyze financial data to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, workflows, and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business objectives.
- Document accounting policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management required
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
