Tuesday‑Saturday, 10am to 6pm, (29 hours per week)

This position is responsible for:

Assists customers purchasing items from The Salvation Army by ringing‑up sales utilizing a cash register; collects monies, counts change and prepares receipts; prepares and packages purchased items; prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register print‑outs. Cleans and organizes on sales floor to ensure a great shopping experience and delivers great customer service.

• Operate cash register to complete sales transactions; handle cash, credit, and vouchers accurately; balance drawer and prepare deposits in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with purchases, answering questions about pricing or policies, and ensuring aOME positive shopping experience.
• Sort, price, and tag merchandise in accordance with pricing guidelines and store procedures.
• Stock and maintain sales floor
  —arrange, rotate, and replenish merchandise; ensure displays are clean, organized, and inviting.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store and sorting areas, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing storage spaces.

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; ability to operate a cash register.
• Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change; ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Physical ability to lift and push/pull light objects (less than 50 lbs.).
• Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.

Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferably.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of העת customer service techniques.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of basic mathematics.
