Cert Surg Tech First Asst II

Job Summary

Provides care to patient populations undergoing surgical interventions under surgeon direction and hospital policy compliance. Performs wound exposure, hemostasis, wound closure, and intraoperative technical functions to enable safe, optimal operations. Prioritizes and executes complex daily activities to meet the 30‑minute inpatient and 25‑minute outpatient turnover guarantee.

Note:

The surgeon must be physically present in the hospital at all times when the CFA is functioning in surgery.

Operating Room

• Minimum of one (1) year, preferably three (3) to five (5) years in operating room clinical practice with demonstrated proficiency as scrub and first assist.
• Ability to scrub greater than five (5) specialty services.

• Demonstrated ability to significantly reduce cost per case (e.g., impact preference card accuracy, choice or supplies, suture, etc.).
• Knowledge of advanced technology (e.g., navigation, robotics).
• Knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
