Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for a caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable and committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life.
We are currently seeking support for a 28-year-old female who is very independent. She is looking to get out into the community for activities and socialization. She would love some assistance with meal planning and grocery shopping. She enjoys movies. She has a support dog that lives with her and goes everywhere with her. The caregiver should be comfortable with dogs.
This is an independent contract position and pays $16.00 per hour.
Schedule: One weekday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (flexible day) and one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) with flexible hours. The total weekly schedule will not exceed 10 hours.
You will be a good fit for this position if you:- Have a positive outlook and contagious energy.
- Demonstrate patience and compassion.
- Encourage and support the individual during home activities.
- Ensure individual safety and maintain a safe living environment.
- Facilitate community involvement by accompanying the individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments.
- Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization.
- Complete daily progress notes.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening.
- Provide proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
