Department: Outreach

Employment Type: Seasonal – Part Time

Location: Battle Centre / Day Services / Programs

Compensation: $18.50/hour

Description

The Outreach Department provides recreational based respite programming for individuals living with their families in the community. Outreach services young children, teenagers and adults. The focus of Outreach is to provide programming which enhances life and social skills and community inclusion. Programs are provided within Reena and larger community settings. Additionally, Outreach strives to incorporate Jewish philosophies within its programming.

Reena is actively looking for contract, part‑time recreational support workers (RSWs) to work within its Community Outreach programs. As an RSW, you would provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Work Schedule

Temporary, Part‑Time Contract role from March 22nd – May 28th, 2026

Below is the shift schedule.

  • Sunday 11:00 – 5:30 PM
  • Monday 5:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Tuesday 4:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday 5:00 – 8:30 PM
  • Thursday 5:00 – 9:00 PM

This is an existing, seasonal contract position offered annually for the Spring Session program.

Additional Information:

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and implement recreational activities for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Reinforce social and life skills
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and training
Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma as the minimum education
  • CPR Level C
  • A valid G2 license is recommended
  • Volunteer experience in recreational camps or working with individuals with special needs

Qualifications

  • Relevant background in child care, education, social work, psychology, and social services
  • Self‑motivated and willing to learn
  • Flexible and adaptive to change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
  • Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with children and youth
