Maintenance Millwright – Westlake

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the millwright will participate in a team environment and carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, fabrication and installation of mechanical equipment.

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems as required.
• Interpret mechanical schematics.
• Properly use hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain conveyor system, compressors and pumps.
• Perform welding and soldering operations.
• Install and maintain fans, blowers, pneumatic systems.
• Install and maintain pipe systems and valves.
• Ensure shop equipment is clean and safe.
• Attend shift “call in” duty as scheduled.
• Carry out general maintenance.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics to determine layout of industrial installations.
• Install, examine, replace or repair feeders, fibre‑optic and coaxial cable assemblies.
• Maintain, repair, test and install hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
• Adhere to safety and environmental regulations as top priorities during maintenance duties.

• Valid industrial mechanic/millwright certificate.
• Minimum seven years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of calipers and other measuring devices.
• Computer skills using MS Office products.
• Ability to read prints.
• Ability to work safely at heights.
• Experience operating scissor lifts and Genie booms (asset).
• Ability to work Continental Shift.
