Position: Field Staff, Restoration &Infrastructure (The Meadoway) - Seasonal

Major Responsibilities

  • Participates in ecological and maintenance projects.
  • Requirements of the role require consistent movement and physicality, such as walking, stretching, jumping, digging, lifting (up to 45lbs) /pushing/pulling items, cleaning, working on vegetation or other general strains.
  • Participates in the application of appropriate pesticides under supervision of a licensed pesticide applicator.
  • The location of the work site is outdoors and subject to uneven terrain and changing weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, precipitation and UV exposure.
  • Operates appropriate machinery and equipment required to execute work duties related to specific project/program area.
  • Directs the public to project notice signage and possibly providing contact information for additional information and inquiries, referring detailed questions and complaints to supervisor.
  • Participates in the daily safety meetings including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and emergency planning.
  • Assists with maintenance of equipment and vehicles, performs circle and other health and safety checks. Reports potential maintenance requirements to supervisor.
  • Incumbents may also be assigned other duties.
What will you need to succeed

Education (degree/diploma/certifications):

  • Minimum, pursuing a post‑secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Valid Class G2 Driver’s License.
Knowledge / Skill / Ability
  • Familiar with basic equipment and power tools.
  • Ability and aptitude to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of native and invasive plants.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for general office communications.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, related Regulations and legislation.
  • Required to lift or carry objects that could weigh up to 45lbs.
