Job Title: Commercial Lines Account Manager

Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent / Hybrid

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

About the role:

My Insurance Broker Corp. is looking to add a dynamic, energetic, and team‑oriented Commercial Account Manager. The successful candidate will manage and service a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts by marketing new business, handling renewals, servicing existing clients, and remarketing policies when required. The Commercial Account Manager will ensure clients receive accurate coverage advice, timely service, and competitive insurance solutions while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, carrier partners, and internal teams.

What you’ll be doing:

Account Management & Client Service

  • Manage a book of commercial insurance business, providing ongoing service and support to clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to review coverage, address concerns, and respond to inquiries.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and mid‑term adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure client files are complete, accurate, and up to date in the Broker Management System.
  • Review upcoming renewals to ensure accuracy, coverage adequacy, and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and market renewal submissions to carriers, negotiating terms and coverage on behalf of clients.
  • Remarket accounts when necessary to secure the best coverage, pricing, and terms for clients.
  • Present renewal options and recommendations clearly to clients and obtain binding instructions.

New Business Marketing

  • Market new commercial business by gathering underwriting information, preparing submissions, and quoting with appropriate carriers.
  • Assess client risks and recommend appropriate coverage solutions based on business operations and exposures.
  • Prepare applications and supporting documentation for new business placement.
  • Bind coverage in accordance with carrier guidelines and brokerage authority.

Carrier & Internal Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers regarding submissions, endorsements, and policy issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing, documentation, and follow‑up.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all transactions comply with carrier underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Maintain proper documentation, disclosures, and audit‑ready files.
  • Identify potential risks, coverage gaps, or E&O concerns and elevate as required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support brokerage goals related to retention, growth, and service excellence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

What we need you to bring:

  • Minimum College or University level Degree or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a general insurance brokerage, preferably in commercial lines.
  • Proven experience managing and servicing commercial insurance accounts.
  • Experience marketing new business and renewals with multiple carriers.
  • R.I.B.O (Level I) License
  • Proficient with insurance policy systems as well as MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with company portals and Broker Management System (EPIC preferred)
  • Familiarity with carrier portals and underwriting workflows.
  • CIP or CAIB Certification or working towards its completion is considered an asset.
