What You Will Do
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal lines Accident Benefit claims of moderate to high complexity
  • Timely, accurate reserving in line with Corporate protocols and guidelines
  • Maintain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniques
  • Obtain approval from Manager on claims above authority
  • Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences
What You Have
  • Minimum of 2-3 years Accident Benefits claims handling experience
  • Through knowledge of the legislation that governs these benefits (SABS)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with strong decision-making skills
  • Post- secondary education in a related field, and/or working towards CIP designation would be preferred
