Position: Power BI Analyst - 6 Months Contract

POSITION SUMMARY

Shawflex is undergoing a major reporting modernization initiative, transitioning from Excel-based reports into scalable, automated Power BI dashboards. This transformation is a cornerstone of our digital strategy, designed to centralize analytics, improve data integrity, and enable real‑time decision‑making across departments including Sales, Planning, Procurement, Production, Engineering, Finance, and Quality.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • A) Power BI Development and Data Modeling – 35%
  • Design and develop semantic models, dataflows, and dashboards using Power BI, DAX, and M language
  • Integrate data sources including ODBC connections and ERP systems
  • Optimize performance and usability of dashboards for business users
  • Ensure adherence to Shawflex’s branding, layout, and accessibility standards
  • B) Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirements Gathering – 20%
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather reporting requirements
  • Attend weekly check‑in/project meetings for progress reviews
  • Conduct User Testing & Acceptance (UTA) sessions with stakeholders
  • Refine dashboards based on UTA feedback to meet business expectations
  • C) Legacy Report Migration and Dataflow Design – 20%
  • Collaborate with Business Systems & Data Analyst and IT/Data teams to migrate legacy reports into Power BI
  • Review existing dataflows provided by the IT team and design new ones where required
  • D) Documentation and Knowledge Transfer – 15%
  • Document processes and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
  • Deliver training for end‑users and developers
  • E) Post‑Deployment Support – 10%
  • Provide optional post‑deployment support as needed
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Power BI development and data modeling.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Power BI Data Analyst Associate demonstrating advanced proficiency and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • DAX for advanced calculations and measures.
    • Power Query and M language for data transformation and shaping.
    • SQL for querying and integrating relational data sources.
  • Microsoft Excel, especially for legacy report analysis and migration.
  • Demonstrated success in migrating Excel‑based reports into scalable Power BI dashboards.
  • Proven experience integrating data from ERP systems (preferably IFS).
  • Experience conducting User Testing & Acceptance (UTA) sessions and refining deliverables based on feedback.
  • Familiarity with semantic modeling, dataflows, and report automation.
  • Strong expertise in semantic layer design and enterprise data architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. – Preferred
  • Proficiency with Power BI Service: workspace management, sharing, and security configuration – Preferred
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial sectors is a strong asset.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project) and agile methodologies – Preferred
  • Ability to engage stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting needs, and dashboard requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
