Registered Nurse – Rate of Pay: $36.06 - $54.59 (as per collective agreement). This posting is for an existing vacancy.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment and planning of resident needs, delivery of skilled procedures, medication administration and documentation in accordance with quality management, legislative requirements and Sienna Senior Living standards.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Provide Resident Care and Services
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and provincial regulatory RN scope of practice requirements
  • Collaborate with the resident or their substitute decision maker about needs, preferences and health status at move in, changes in status and ongoing assessment as required
  • Create, develop and evaluate plan of care and goals of care with the resident or their substitute decision maker
  • Provide supervision, assistance and oversight
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge of equipment used in nursing care
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies and guidelines that reflect the Community’s philosophy
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the resident
  • Participate in conferences with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide leadership and guidance
  • Act as a role model for nursing team members within professional guidelines and relevant legislation
  • Participate in or deliver in-services and education with nursing and other team members as required
  • Teach RPN/LPNs and PSW/HCAs in relation to new skills
  • Foster team learning by sharing knowledge and providing follow-up and support for educational programs
Who You Are
  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (and related regulatory bodies)
  • Knowledge of the nursing process, geriatric care developments and current trends
  • Compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors with comfort, dignity, and respect
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Administrative and computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet patient needs
  • Proficiency in both official languages, French and English, is an asset
