Our client is looking for a Senior Financial & Costing Analyst for a 6 month to permanent opportunity.
Reports directly to the Costing and Projects Manager. The Senior Financial & Costing Analyst will be an integral part of the Finance team and will be responsible for a variety of accounting matters to support the financial state of the Company. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limed to the following:
About the Opportunity- Responsible for the preparation of the consolidated monthly financial close.
- Prepare monthly reporting package with key performance indicators and in-depth variance analysis
- Oversee Revenue Recognition model and analyze key projects.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis for Sales, Cost of Sales, and Gross Margin against budget, and review findings with management.
- Lead monthly COS budget meetings with key stakeholders
- Conduct monthly inventory Audits
- Identify, analyze, and reduce inefficiencies in the Manufacturing/Installation process.
- Preparation of Sales and COS annual budget.
- Responsible for quarterly Forecasting.
- Responsible for Cost accounting function.
- Assist during Audits/Reviews by preparing necessary schedules and answers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to all Finance team members when appropriate.
- Main Contact for year-end audit process by preparing necessary schedules, journal entries and or responses.
- Recommend process improvements in Finance where necessary.
- Ad hoc projects/Any other tasks assigned by the Costing and Project Manager
- CPA designation is an asset.
- Minimum 2-3 years of management accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Flexible to work overtime as required.
- Knowledge and experience in accounting practices and regulations;
- Understanding of POCM accounting and revenue recognition.
- Ability to effectively use analytical and problem solve skills;
- Knowledge in SAP or similar accounting software;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload;
- Proficient in data entry and management;
- Discretion, judgment, and tact to handle confidential information;
- Organization, attention to detail, and accuracy is required;
- Write letters, memos and emails;
- Communication with coworkers daily by telephone, email and in person;
$45.00 / Hour
