Job DescriptionAECOM’s Markham office is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing water and wastewater electrical team in the Water Group. The Water group is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers Engineering, architectural and project management services as well as planning and economic analysis for vertical construction projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to, water / wastewater facilities, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical and transit facilities.
Major Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Developing various types of reports including technical memorandum, design development, facility electrical system assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents.
- Preparing electrical design reports, drawings, specifications and cost estimate throughout the primary design and detail design stages.
- Implement design concept through the preparation and production of drawings to detail MV and LV power distributions, process mechanical equipment control schematics, lighting and controls, fire alarm, and specialty low voltage systems rough-ins (i.e. telecomm., intrusion control, security, CCTV, door access controls, etc.)
- Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
- Conduct site inspections to obtain field As-Built data and conditions.
- Work with electrical equipment manufacturers and suppliers to obtain all necessary industrial design data and incorporate into the design drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring design conforms with all applicable codes and standards.
- Attendance to various stage project meetings involving clients, consultants and contractors. Provide technical supports to the project managers, responding to technical queries.
- Coordinate with local hydro utility service suppliers for incoming power services.
- Construction administration responsibilities:
- Attending site inspection, meetings and site reviews complete with reports.
- Review shop drawing and answer Contractor RFIs.
- SI and CCN preparations.
- Progress billing reviews.
- Supervision of FAT and SAT and electrical system commissioning.
