BIM Modeler

Job Description

WSP is currently seeking a BIM Modeler to join our dynamic Structural Modeling team, located at our Toronto or Thornhill office. Reporting to the BIM Manager, the successful candidate will work in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment, fully engaging in modeling innovative design solutions from inception through to construction.

• Develop and model building elements using Revit software
• Accept ownership of specific tasks within a team environment
• Coordinate with other project disciplines
• Support established BIM standards and modeling best practices
• Maintain and create Revit families
• Promote BIM technologies and practices to improve production efficiency and effectiveness
• Attend internal and external project meetings
• Identify and proactively participate in training to increase technical and project knowledge

• 3–6 years of working experience and educational background in Revit and Micro Station
• Experience in construction and/or consulting services
• Excellent practical knowledge of building information modeling (BIM)
• In‑depth experience modeling with Revit for a medium to large‑sized structural engineering firm
• Advanced knowledge of Revit families and templates
• Understanding of Dynamo scripting
• Promote and support practices that improve production efficiency and effectiveness
• Knowledge of interoperability of BIM modeling and design tools
• Creative problem‑solving skills
• Customer‑service oriented with a commitment to teamwork
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong, self‑motivated work ethic with the ability to deliver on time while maintaining consistent follow‑up
• Organized and methodical with a capacity for resolving challenges
• Strong commitment to producing quality deliverables and meeting deadlines
