Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Estimator evaluates tender opportunities, prepares budgets, processes orders, and coordinates with suppliers and internal teams. The role involves detailed engineering, groundwater control, and tender management to secure and deliver high‑value projects across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Design comprehensive dewatering systems through conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Communicate daily with project managers and operations teams across field and shop.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, geotechnical, hydrogeological, and environmental reports.
  • Develop detailed groundwater control solutions for all construction sectors.
  • Design multistage groundwater treatment and filtration systems for site‑specific applications.
  • Prepare quotations, delivery slips, and purchase orders.
  • Verify quantities, materials, consumables, and installation dates to meet budgets and track extras.
  • Coordinate logistics for equipment delivery and return, communicating updates to the team.
  • Maintain professional and timely customer communication to deliver superior service.
  • Identify and source available tender projects and attend site meetings.
  • Act in compliance with Aquatech’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
  • Serve as point of contact to the construction client for quoting inquiries and tender opportunities.
  • Perform tender drawings, specs, and engineering report assessments and quantity take‑offs.
  • Write engineering plans, prepare layout drawings and P&, and coordinate changes with PM and client.
  • Prepare quotations for tender submissions using inventory software.
  • Compile final bid submission documents in standard format.
  • Finalize pre‑qualification packages.
  • Conduct application engineering, including design calculations for system selection.
  • Obtain pricing from preferred vendor list as required.
  • Liaise with shop operations to check inventory availability.
  • Attend pre‑bid site visits and assess job‑site layouts.
  • Present finalized bids to Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for approval.
  • Handle change orders and revised quotations based on client requests.
  • Follow up on final tender results, track win/loss data, and update CRM.
  • Coordinate project transition to the team upon award.
  • Source rental, sale, and turnkey contracts via tenders.
  • Record all opportunities and details in CRM (Salesforce) and report to senior management.
  • Oversee logistics, installation crews, pumping operation, and equipment return for decommissioning.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil engineering, earth sciences, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of hydrogeological, geotechnical, mechanical, or civil engineering experience in construction or industrial sectors.
  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, customer service, negotiation, organizational, and computer skills (AutoCAD).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (strong Excel);
    AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Experience working in outdoor weather, shop, and job‑site conditions.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and punctual to deadlines.
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and clean abstract.
Salary and Benefits

Compensation ranges from CA $65,000.00 to CA $85,000.00 per year, based on experience, skills and market conditions.
