Elementary Math & English Tutor

Elementary Math & English Tutor at Oxford Learning Kleinburg (Oxford Learning Centres Inc.). Part-time position available for individuals who are passionate about helping students succeed in English and Math.

Oxford Learning Kleinburg is seeking part-time teacher-tutors for our learning centre. Lessons are pre-planned, and applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels, in-person and online
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

All Teacher-Tutors work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) and Saturdays (9:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment for the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus. This role is in-person; you must be able to commute to the Kleinburg location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Strong knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

• Experience teaching/tutoring Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent)
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time

• Interact with students as an Interactive Coach
• Teach online and in-person
• Engage with the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Fill in post-lesson notes and provide updates
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor
