Position Summary: The Demand Forecast Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate demand planning to support production, inventory management, and overall supply chain efficiency. This role is responsible for analyzing historical data, market trends, customer forecasts, and internal business drivers to create reliable demand forecasts. The analyst collaborates closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Production Planning to ensure alignment between supply and customer requirements.
EssentialResponsibilities and Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve short-term and long-term demand forecasts using statistical models, forecasting software, and market intelligence.
- Analyze historical sales data, seasonality, promotions, and market trends to identify demand patterns.
- Generate monthly demand planning reports and support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Track forecast accuracy (e.g., MAPE, bias) and implement corrective actions to improve forecast performance.
- Consolidate data from various internal sources (ERP/MRP systems, CRM, sales reports) to build accurate demand models.
- Provide insights on demand variability, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare dashboards and KPIs for management review.
- Work with Sales teams to incorporate customer insights, promotions, and new product launches into the forecast.
- Partner with Production Planning and Inventory teams to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with Procurement to communicate demand changes and material requirements.
- Enhance forecasting tools, models, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in system upgrades, digital transformation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
- Support root-cause analysis for forecast deviations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- Master’s degree or advanced training in forecasting or analytics is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain analysis, or similar roles; preferably in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with S&OP processes and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and forecasting/statistical tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, R, Forecast Pro).
- Ability to interpret large datasets and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and manufacturing environments.
