Base pay rangeCA $90,000.00/yr - CA$/yr
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting and general ledger maintenance. This role is vital to the company's overall success, requiring a professional with a strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and confidentiality. The Senior Accountant will support month-end and year-end closings, financial reporting and analysis, external audit processes and manage a small cross‑functional team, among other responsibilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
- Facilitate and complete monthly closing procedures.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Lead, manage and train a team of five direct reports
- Oversee fixed asset processing and reporting.
- Conduct daily bank account reviews and weekly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in streamlining expense procedures and invoice processing.
- Manage sales tax reporting and other government reporting.
- Prepare for and support various audit activities.
- Document and monitor internal controls.
- Assist with monthly bank reporting.
- Monitor and report on positive pay exceptions.
- Execute other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
- CPA designation or near completion is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience; experience in the distribution industry is an asset.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading, managing and training small cross‑functional teams
- Strong knowledge of ASPE principles, including controls and standards.
- Proven analytical and business planning skills, with ability to research and resolve issues as necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proactive with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
- Strong team player capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Experience with Infor sXe and TwL is an asset.
