Service Technician

Position Overview

As a Security Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining comprehensive security systems for both residential and commercial clients. Your expertise will ensure our customers receive reliable, cutting-edge security solutions delivered with outstanding service.

Core Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain security systems at client sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Provide onsite support for customers through alarm panel diagnostics, physical wiring and repair of devices, programming and troubleshooting
• Service CCTV, surveillance cameras, access control systems, card readers, and wireless/hardwired keypads
• Perform installations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on security systems, wireless communicators, CCTV, DVR, card access, burglar and fire alarm systems
• Collaborate with team members to complete installations efficiently and accurately
• Conduct system testing and provide comprehensive training to clients on system operation
• Diagnose technical issues and perform repairs or escalate as necessary
• Document installation processes and service activities thoroughly
• Manage assigned inventory, accurately tracking and costing parts used from truck stock
• Follow up with coordinators or department managers on any open service tickets, jobs and inspections
• Adhere to company policies and safety protocols at all times
• Keep up-to-date with new security technology developments
• Participate in the on-call rotation
• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service installation, preferably in security or related systems
• Demonstrated skill set in multiple disciplines of low voltage security, fire, video and access control systems
• Prior experience with fire and security systems industry extremely helpful
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to interpret schematics
• Excellent customer service skills with ability to handle challenging situations professionally
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Great documentation skills and ability to work with various stakeholders and vendors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights using scissor lifts or similar equipment
• Self-motivated with strong mechanical aptitude and adaptive personality

Preferred Technical Experience

• Products:
  Honeywell, DMP, Axis, Speco, Linear, DSC
• Systems: IP cameras, CCTV systems, DVR, access control, alarm panels
• Devices:
  Glass breaks, motion detectors, window/door contacts, card readers, wireless communicators
• Skills:
  
  Servicing/troubleshooting, replacing batteries, updating hardware, prewiring existing homes and new construction sites

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vandalia, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
