Position Summary

Hours:

11am-7pm

This position is responsible for safely leading your line to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by driving a Lean culture. Proactively managing uptime by ensuring smooth team operations, continuous improvement, and collaboration. This role will be the primary contact point for their team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direction, instruction, training, and audit adherence to Standard Work Procedures, including:
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Set clear team goals
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Oversee day-to-day operation
  • Monitor/motivate team performance and report on metrics
  • Develop team members by identifying training needs and coaching opportunities
  • Listen to team members' feedback and resolve issues or conflicts
  • Assist employees as necessary to maintain required production, complete repairs, preventative maintenance, changeovers, and regulate machine cycles to meet production metrics
  • Collaborate with technical personnel for installation, repairs, adjustments, and process improvements
  • Ensure the line is adequately supplied to meet production metrics
  • Work from established procedures including Safety, Quality, Standard Work, and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrate process proficiency and knowledge of Operations procedures
  • Provide back-up support to maintain production metrics
  • Maintain work areas and tools according to Visual Management and 5S Standards
  • Maintain all required records
  • Prepare and lead start-up and high-performance meetings
  • Engage in continuous improvement and participate in Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) events
  • Escalate issues affecting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Other duties as assigned due to business needs
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2-4 years of equivalent manufacturing experience in a leadership position
  • Ability to use problem solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action
  • Ability to communicate with counterparts regarding key metrics and departmental issues
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and hold daily standup meetings with operators to review production metrics and issues
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste (Continuous Improvement)
  • Collaborate with other Team Leaders to gain consensus for Standard Work changes
  • Adapt to Standard Work variances to help solve problems
  • Be a role model for good attendance and work habits
  • Set and reach goals and drive tasks to completion
  • Establish sound organizational and computer skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and mechanical abilities, self-direction, decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and strong communication
  • Be willing to attain Yellow Belt or higher certification

Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment; non-temperature-controlled
  • Weight: up to 60 lbs; ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Physical capabilities: stretching, lifting, climbing, twisting, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching and bending
