POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining continuous system operation of automated (secondary) equipment (including 6-axis robots) by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components and for the assembly/wiring of new equipment.

Automation Equipment Corrective Maintenance
  • Respond to production calls for automation equipment alarms and failures and take appropriate action to correct problems.
  • Communicate with the Production shift personnel, Quality and Engineering members across multiple shifts. Communication to include, but not limited to, the shift status on issues and performance for machines.
Automation Equipment Preventative Maintenance
  • Inspect automation equipment for broken, damaged, misaligned parts and safety issues. Check for intended fit, form and function.
  • Clean automation equipment.
  • Complete paperwork related to machine PMs.
Mechanical and Controls Assembly
  • Work with engineers/designers to understand design intent and to complete goals.
  • Assemble new equipment per models, layouts, drawings, schematics, sketches, notes, and other instructions provided by engineer/designer.
  • Fabricate electrical panels consisting of point-to-point wiring of digital and analog control circuits and devices.
Documentation
  • Document all changes to machines, fixtures or tooling during assembly, installation, debug, or normal operations as required.

Qualifications
  • Two-year technical degree or working towards a degree.
  • Mechanical assembly experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in related field preferred.
  • Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Cognex or other vision system programming experience.
  • 6 axis robot programming experience.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
