Processing Technician I – 3rd Shift, Vandalia, OH
Join the axogen team as a Processing Technician I on the 3rd shift. This role focuses on debridement, processing, packaging, labeling, and shipping of human tissue products for surgical transplantation while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and AATB regulations.
Employee Benefits & Compensation• 2nd and 3rd shift positions receive an additional shift differential ($1.50/hr for 2nd shift, $2.00/hr for 3rd shift).

• Hourly Pay Range: $23 per hour.

- Performs processing, debridement, packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished products.
- Participates in the receiving and inspection of incoming unprocessed tissue.
- Utilizes special techniques, instrumentation, and equipment to clean and size tissue to specifications and protocols.
- Assists the team lead with maintaining inventory levels for receiving supplies.
- Performs lab cleaning activities as required by policies, protocols, procedures, and SOPs.
- Works with Quality and Regulatory staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and AATB regulations, particularly regarding manufacturing.
- Completes documentation and records in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Assists with production records as needed.
- Complies with all company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Performs all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred background in universal precautions and sterile technique (e.g., surgical technician, medical assistant, lab technician).
The work requires exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or 30 pounds frequently or 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical abilities required include mental acuity, visual acuity, walking, repetitive motion, speaking, grasping, manual dexterity, talking, and hearing.
Working & Environmental ConditionsWork is performed in a biomedical manufacturing environment with necessary safety precautions. Workers are required to wear PPE such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses. Exposure to chemicals, blood or bodily fluids, communicable diseases, saw blades, needles, sharp objects, moving mechanical parts, and latex may occur. Proper safety practices, fire and building safety regulations, and avoidance of trips and falls must be observed.
