Substitute Bus Driver

Reporting directly to the Director of Specialized Transportation, the Substitute School Bus Driver transports students on "to and from school" routes and special activity trips. This position will provide transportation to the ESD 112 service region and is a Part‑Time, on‑call/substitute position.

Job Description

• Operate a school bus in accordance with the State of Washington laws and policies promulgated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
• Maintain accurate and legible records of daily bus logs and other required documents.
• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative communication with students, parents, school staff, peers, and supervisors.
• Supervise and maintain control of students.
• Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops, and seminars.
• Drive the school bus on scheduled routes and/or all trips and approved activities,
• Inspect, clean, and request maintenance service for the school bus and related equipment as required by ESD 112 policy.both within and outside district boundaries.
• Report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of any person other than the driver.
• Read and interpret maps and street guides.

Meet and continue to meet minimum school bus driver requirements pursuant to WAC  including but not limited to:

• One year experience as a driver of a truck or commercial vehicle OR at least three years of experience as a driver of a passenger vehicle.
