OverviewFleet Services by Cox Automotive is the leading provider of on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide, offering mobile service for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. We provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair through a 24/7 in‑house call center and a network of 50+ service centers.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starter/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose and repair various truck equipment using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, and lifts/jacks to perform repairs.
- Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Manage parts inventory, obtain parts from approved vendors, and perform periodic reconciliations.
- Document work in Repair Orders (RO) using iOS devices and the TRAIT application.
- Communicate with clients and customers to assess needs and provide assistance.
- Maintain high productivity and comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (or alternative combinations of education and experience).
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
- Complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
- Current valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining, or complete DOT physical per rules.
- At least 21 years of age and a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor.
- Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.

- Apply new information to current and future problem‑solving.

- Determine appropriate tools for tasks.
- Accurately judge distances between objects.
- Minimum 6.67 hours of paid time off monthly and seven paid holidays yearly.

Hourly base pay rate is $28.70 – $43.03/hour. Pay may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation including commission and incentive programs.
The new hire bonus is $2,500, with 50% paid after 30 days and 50% after 180 days.
