ER Director of Nursing Needed
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Director of Nursing for our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care, demonstrating the ability to manage critical situations with composure and efficiency. This role requires excellent documentation review skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology. The DON will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring adherence to resident rights and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room setting.
• Manage patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history.
• Conduct documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate care plans for patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Stay updated on best practices in emergency care, including hospice care and assisted living protocols.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Proven experience in an emergency room or critical care setting as a Director of Nursing.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise nursing staff teams effectively in emergency medicine.
• Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices.
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations and resident rights is highly desirable.
• Experience in home care or hospice care settings is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
