Job Description

As a Prefab Operator, you will be responsible for using prefab equipment to prepare parts for fabrication. You will extensively use tape measures to identify correct cut lengths, convert decimals to fractions, and reduce fractions from 1/16th inch. Your duties will involve using cutting equipment, drills, saws, and grinders as needed. You will also conduct layout of parts according to drawings and cut part lists as per the specifications.

• Operate prefab equipment to prepare parts for fabrication.
• Use tape measures to identify correct cut lengths and convert decimals to fractions.
• Reduce fractions from 1/16th inch.
• Operate cutting equipment, drills, saws, and grinders.
• Layout parts according to detailed drawings.
• Cut parts lists based on drawings and specifications.

• Proficiency in MIG welding and fitting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Extensive use of tape measure for accurate measurements.
• Strong skills in shop math for converting and reducing fractions.
• Experience with metals cutting equipment including saws, drills, and torches.

• Experience in reading drawings or blueprints.
• Familiarity with using various metal cutting tools and equipment.

The work environment is a dynamic manufacturing setting within a small to mid‑sized company. Employees are expected to wear multiple hats and contribute to a team‑oriented culture, focusing on custom job shop work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Vancouver, WA.
