PY and the role of the nurse assistant. - Identify the scope of practice for the nurse assistant, including ethical and legal responsibilities to the patient/resident.
- Provide quality and safe nurse assistant care in the performance of procedure skills for the patient/resident.
- Apply knowledge and skills when caring for a patient/resident with acute, chronic, or terminal health care needs.
- Demonstrate assisting with rehabilitation and restorative nursing care to the adult and older adult.
The Nursing Assistant course of the Sapphire Health Services Training Program is designed to prepare students to pass the CRA certification test offered through Oregon State Board Nursing. Students are not employees; employment opportunities are available at Sapphire locations upon successful completion ಮಾತ. Employees of Sapphire Health Services are eligible for tuition reimbursement for Healthcare Professional Courses, including nursing school, after one year of successful employment.
Responsibilities- Provide residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Maintain resident confidentiality.
- Serve as an integral part of the team caring for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation residents.
- Foster a supportive, compassionate environment for residents and their families.
- Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with feeding and ensuring residents receive proper nutrition.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Observe and report any changes in resident health status to supervising nurses.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Engage residents in activities to enhance their physical and emotional well‑being.
- Gain hands‑on experience with basic clinical procedures under the supervision of licensed nurses.
- Practice infection control protocols and safety procedures.
- Assist with maintaining accurate patient records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff.
- Proficient in English to effectively communicate with residents and the healthcare team; the OSBN certification test is offered only in English at a 6th‑grade level.
