ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost analysis, inventory valuation and reporting initiatives for our Precast Segments. You'll optimize manufacturing costs, monitor and audit inventory valuation, maintain cost accounting systems, participate in monthly, quarterly and yearly closes and deliver actionable insights to drive profitability. This is a key role for NWPX.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Analyze manufacturing costs and identify efficiency improvement opportunities
- Perform monthly/quarterly/yearly cost accounting close and variance analysis
- Maintain cost accounting systems and general ledger transactions
- Analyze manufacturing operations including labor and equipment utilization
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Review and take action where needed on inventory valuations, variances, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other cost accounting standards and best practices
- Support operation management through cost analysis and other needs
- Collaborate with operations and budget teams
- Some travel is required
- Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred
- Minimum 5+ years is preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards is required
- Experience with manufacturing or production environments preferred
This position may (on occasion) require travel to a production facility. All employees are expected to be familiar with and comply with all applicable safety and compliance requirements (i.e. PPE, OSHA requirements) when in a production area.
