$50.58 per hour
SCHEDULEFull-Time, Monday–Friday 8am – 5pm, Temporary, 6 months – 1 year, possibility to extend
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, review, and certify complex design plans and specifications for transportation, drainage, sewage, and related public infrastructure projects.
- Review residential and commercial development proposals for compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and evaluate feasibility, drainage, soils, structural conditions, and long‑term performance.
- Perform advanced engineering analyses, technical research, and cost estimates to support project planning.
- Prepare and review contracts, design agreements, grant documentation, and technical reports.
- Lead pre‑bid and pre‑construction meetings and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
- Oversee construction to ensure compliance with approved plans; review progress and authorize payments.
- Resolve contractor and property owner issues and represent Public Works at public meetings as needed.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field.
- Certification: Active Certified Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including plan review, transportation, or stormwater design.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering assignments with limited oversight.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, regulatory standards, and project management practices.
This position performs professional engineering work in both office and field environments. Work is conducted in a temperature‑controlled office setting as well as outdoor project sites. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
