Apex is hiring a Staff Environmental Scientist I or Environmental Engineer I to be based in Vancouver, WA. You ll have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated group of talented engineers, scientists, and multi-discipline professionals on projects that vary widely in size and complexity—each making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This role offers significant room for professional growth.
Responsibilities- Field collection of environmental samples (air, water, stormwater, wastewater, soil)
- Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater, wastewater, solid/hazardous waste, and air permit compliance
- Preparing environmental management plans related to stormwater pollution prevention, spill prevention, and solid waste operations
- Inspection and auditing for environmental compliance
- Problem solving through selection and implementation of pollution prevention Best Management Practices for discharge permit compliance
- Support a variety of environmental engineering tasks for remedial system design and construction
- Assist with the evaluation and permitting of environmental projects
- Presentation of environmental topics to employees, clients, and contractors
- Travel to project sites within Washington and Oregon required
- Represent Apex in a safe and professional manner both internally and externally
- Bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field
- Master s degree a plus
- Experience collecting field samples of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, wastewater, and air using standard environmental protocols
- Experience preparing regulatory reports and permit-related documentation
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred

Hourly Expected Pay Range
$30 — $38 USD
