The primary role of an Electrical Engineer is to participate in the design and detail engineering efforts to support the construction of aluminum and steel vessels.

• Design vessel electrical systems which meet requirements set forth in the vessel specification, creating models, drawings, and detailed bills of materials. (Small vessels preferred)
• Perform all calculations required for electrical systems design.
• Support estimators during preliminary stages of project.
• Support production personnel during construction phase of project.
• Participate in sea trials of completed vessels.
• Maintain engineering block library and electrical systems standards documents.

May be asked to supervise and mentor a team of up to two engineers and designers or provide oversight on engineering subcontractors as they carry out design tasks relevant to your discipline.

This position maintains a variety of professional relationships and must be able to determine the appropriate level of communication and interaction for various situations and circumstances. The ability to effectively influence decisions through respectful interactions with others both within the organization and outside of the organization is essential in this role.

• Strong computer skills and experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) additionally with Solid Works, Rhino, or Ship Constructor preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work with extremely tight specifications.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
