Position Title: Assistant HS Coach
Position Details: BASEBALL
Eligible employees may accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked under Washington State Law. Upon working 630 hours in a school year, eligible employees may be eligible for insurance benefits through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) which includes medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance.

- Responsible to the Athletic Director/Coordinator and the Head Coach.
- Must be able to attend all after school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, etc.
- Must be able to drive district van to transport participants.
- Cooperation by the assistant coaches of each sport with the head coach, athletic director, and the principal in performing the duties related to the school athletic program.
- Assure that players under his/her jurisdiction understand the training rule policy. The signed parental permission form shall be in the hands of the coach or athletic office prior to an athlete beginning practice. All parental forms are to be returned to the athletic director.
- Support the head coach in conducting the athletic program of that particular sport and total athletic program of the school district.
- Remain loyal to the head coach and to the team. He/she may have to give up some of his /her own thoughts regarding team strategy, etc. to fit into the overall pattern as set forth by the head coach.
- Attend all practices beginning the first day to the end of the season along with being available for all staff meetings and scouting assignments.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism with others, recognizing the personal achievements and professional contributions of others and demonstrating knowledge of a sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial, ethnic/cultural, national socio-economic backgrounds.
- Assume the responsibility for maintenance of facilities and personnel in the absence of the head coach.
- Report all injuries, misconduct, or other unusual situations to the head coach, athletic director, or principal.
- Assist the head coach in checking in and inventorying all equipment at the end of the season.
- Assume all duties as assigned by the head coach.
- Attend rules clinics, workshops, and classes that are required to maintain compliance with WIAA coaching certification standards.
- Apply discipline in a fair, firm, and positive manner.
- Conduct himself/herself in an ethical manner during practices and contests.
- Provide information regarding letters and special awards.
- Current First Aid/CPR card required.
- Current Type II driver's license required.
- Previous high school experience preferred.
