Job DescriptionWe are looking to hire a Washington State Certified dedicated, observant flagger to monitor, control and direct the flow of traffic around road construction sites using sign, hand, and flag signals. The flagger's responsibilities include informing motorists of possible detour routes, understanding and applying safe traffic control practices and, when necessary, directing emergency vehicles safely through construction zones.
Flagger Responsibilities- Using hand signals, paddles, and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites.
- Communicating with other flaggers using hand‑held radios to direct two‑way radio traffic onto a single lane.
- Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
- Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites.
- Setting up advanced warning signs, barricades, and traffic cones to cordon off work zones.
- Assisting in removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work.
- Assisting the construction crew in the removal of debris and hazardous materials.
- Attending regularly scheduled safety team meetings prior to work.
- Driving required role, must have a valid in‑state driver’s license.
- Must have a Washington State Flagger Certification or be able to obtain one.
- Ability to stand for 8‑12 hours a day and lift 50‑60 lbs.
- Experience driving, working in various weather conditions and traffic settings.
- Must pass pre‑employment screenings, including a drug test.
