Lumber Quoting​/Estimation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Lumber Cost Estimator / Quoter with a strong background in exterior lumber and infrastructure-focused materials. This role will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive lumber estimates and quotes, supporting projects that lean more toward exterior and structural applications while still aligning closely with residential construction needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates coming from a home improvement, residential, or building materials background who are looking to deepen their experience in exterior lumber and infrastructure-related estimating.
Pay rate for this role is determined by the hiring manager during the interview process within the range of 30-35/hr.
This role requires you to be located in Vancouver, WA and willing to go into the office 5 days a week.

Required Skills & Experience

• Prepare accurate and timely lumber-specific cost estimates and quotes, with a focus on exterior and infrastructure-related lumber

• Review project specifications, drawings, and material requirements to determine quantities and pricing

• Analyze lumber types, grades, dimensions, and pricing structures to ensure competitive and accurate quotes

• Collaborate with sales, operations, and project teams to align estimates with scope and timelines

• Track market pricing and supplier information to maintain up-to-date cost data

• Revise and re-price quotes as project scopes or material needs change
Maintain organized documentation for estimates, pricing assumptions, and revisions
- 2+ years working with CAD or BIM
- 2+ years of experience in residential construction estimating, preferably in both new builds and remodels.
- Proven experience using estimating software such as STACK, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Plan Swift, Knowify, Sage Construction Suite, Buildxact etc.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Proficient in digital takeoffs and cost modeling to determine the materials and costs that will go into new builds for residential single family and multifamily homes as well as commercial remodel/new construction.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing.
Competent in Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
