We’re Myers Kent Industries, a growing electrical and automation contractor serving the Pacific Northwest. We don’t just install conduit and pull wire, we help build smart, reliable, scalable systems for industrial and commercial clients who expect excellence.

What You’ll Do- Prepare detailed, accurate electrical estimates for industrial and commercial projects
- Tackle both design-build and design-assist projects — sometimes from full sets, sometimes from napkin notes
- Own your numbers: material lists, labor breakdowns, subcontractor quotes, vendor coordination
- Track bid status, deadlines, and follow-ups — no black holes
- Perform job walks, gather site data, and identify constructability challenges early
- Work closely with project managers and field leads to ensure your estimates turn into smooth projects
- Support value engineering and creative solutions when scope is fuzzy or specs are unclear
- Use our estimating tools (McCormick and more) to build repeatable, reliable estimates
- 2+ years of electrical estimating experience (industrial/commercial preferred)
- Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and fill in the blanks when details are missing
- Electrical field experience or engineering background is a plus
- Confidence working independently, communicating clearly, and making data-driven decisions
- Curiosity, adaptability, and follow-through — especially when details change
- Bonus: experience with job costing, forecasting, or project management
- Bids are clear, on time, and profitable — not just fast
- You own your work, and your team can trust your numbers
- You speak up when something doesn’t feel right
- Project handoffs are smooth, with no guesswork for the field team
- You grow — in skill, ownership, and earning potential
- You help us improve — from systems to margins to strategy
This isn’t just an “input quantities into software” position. Our estimators are trusted partners who think critically and help shape the work we do. As our project pipeline grows, this role is a key driver of how we scale intelligently.
We’re not asking you to rescue chaos or guess at margins — we’re asking you to help us price work with clarity, confidence, and pride.
Growth & ImpactWe believe in rewarding accuracy, ownership, and outcomes. This role has a clear path to grow into a senior estimator or preconstruction lead as our pipeline and team expand.
Estimators here are trusted to make judgment calls when drawings are incomplete. Leadership backs well‑reasoned decisions, and your success is measured by real impact — not just how fast you click.
