Duty Drawback & Tariff Clerk – Vancouver, WA
Location: On‑site Vancouver, WA
Salary: $45,000 to $55,000 DOE
Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Prepare and track duty drawback claims for exported products.
- Collect, organize, and validate import/export documentation and data, including entry summaries, invoices, bills of lading, and export records.
- Review commercial invoices, product specifications, and bills of materials to ensure accurate tariff classification.
- Ensure compliance with CBP, BIS, and other trade regulations.
- Reconcile import/export data to identify drawback eligibility and support audits.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customs brokers, and logistics partners; monitor tariff changes, duty spend trends, and cost‑saving opportunities, and assist with reporting and claim tracking.
Education and/or Experience
- 1‑2 years of experience with duty drawback.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, supply chain, logistics, international trade, or accounting). - Strong understanding of:
- HTS Classification
- CBP regulations
- Duty drawback rules (19 CFR Part 190)
- Import/Export documentation
- Strong analytical skills with Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or progress toward certification.
- Experience in manufacturing or import/export‑heavy industries.
- Familiarity with free trade agreements (USMCA, etc.).
- ERP or trade compliance software experience.
- 2‑5 years of experience in customs compliance, tariff classification, or duty drawback.
- 2‑5 years of experience working with customs brokers or ACE systems.
