Senior Accountant
Our client is a multi-faceted manufacturing organization with a reputation for excellence in their sector. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their corporate finance group to manage essential technical functions that support their global reach. This position serves as a primary resource for complex balance sheet areas, offering a mix of independent analysis and cross-functional collaboration. It is a great fit for an accountant who wants to dive deep into specialized reporting standards while contributing to the overall efficiency and success of a large-scale operation.
Job Duties
- Prepare high-level accounting analysis and journal entries for foreign currency translation, hedge accounting, and intercompany transactions.
- Administer the company’s foreign currency hedge program to mitigate financial risk.
- Manage lease accounting (ASC 842) by reviewing documentation from operations and maintaining accurate records for financial reporting.
- Resolve complex accounting discrepancies and document policies and internal control procedures for assigned areas.
- Support the financial reporting function by preparing disclosure schedules and providing assistance for external and internal audits.
- Assist with the income tax provision and compliance process, including communication with various tax jurisdictions.
- Serve as a backup for fixed asset accounting and treasury functions, including daily cash reconciliations and borrowing administration.
- Provide cross-training to the General Ledger team and develop training materials for operations personnel.
- Lead special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager to improve workflow efficiencies.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal company policies through rigorous recordkeeping and account analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting.
- Solid proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with SAP or similar large-scale ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- CPA license is preferred but not required.
